loose sd but joint

So I was playing tonight with my peradon 3/4 cue and using the screw on extension. The actual brass joint from the bottom of the cue started turning inside the hole and had to be removed with the extension. I could push it back in and seems to sit ok-ish but I'm sure it's not tight enough. Need it for a final next week!!!!

So what's the procedure? Get the joint back in with some really strong glue? Or leave until I have more time to wait and get it professionally fixed?

just use superglue as long as it is a tight enough fit it should work fine - loctite gel will do it.

that's the fix, but what was the cause?
1. The joint was always going to come loose?
2. The user always overtightens the extensions.

1. Nothing can do about this coming from the maker in this condition, when it goes, fix
2. Dont over tighten the extensions. It is surprising how little tightening is required to get an extension to be solid.
A while back a playing partner had the same experience, adding the mini butt played a shot, went to unscrew the mini and the joint came out all together. He was shocked, I said to him that I was surprised how long it lasted due to him attempting to wring the "bloody life" out of the butts everytime he used an extension

Yes I think I did over tighten it a bit. Usual story, not thinking about the cue, just looking at the shot.

I would suggest a more permanent fix would be to use epoxy cement and let it cue for a day or so. The super glue will work as a temporary fix but I've found some superglue seems to crystalize from repeated vibration but the epoxy seems to last forever.

Just get an epoxy meant for wood & metal and it should do the trick. Put lots in the socket in the butt and then screw in your butt socket and wipe off the excess epoxy (and quickly remove the mini if you use that to screw in the butt socket). Let it set for 24hrs and you should be good to go.
