Acuerate cues. Good or gimmick.

Hello fellow cueists - was curious if anyone has anything to say about acuerate
cues. I am looking for a new cue - lighter than my current MW blackshark and
really like the look of acuerate 147. any feed back would be helpful.

If you consider swapping a MW for an Acuerate, then think again... These cues are in the middle of a hot debate as to whether there either superb or rubbish...
Personnaly, I have tried several Acuerates, as mates have some, and I haven't been impressed by at all. The playability (low deflection affaire...) is in question but what I really dislike is the price for the quality....More than 550€ for a poorly finished cue is way beyond acceptable. Materials are cheap to say the least and do not last very long. I advise you to test one in flesh to be your own judge but if you ask me, if are looking for something else, look at Exquisite cues, Jason Owens, Stamford, things like that....But definitely not Acuerate.

I wouldn't swap a MW for anything, they are imo as perfect a cue as you can get!

hi all
i have a brand new accurate pro with both mini butt and extension + the ultimate pro leather case also brand new it is a complete package and is all new - no marks or dings
the cue is fitted with the new low deflection shaft the specs of this lovelu cue are ** 57 inches long 9.25mm tip and 17.3/8 oz
this cue was made for an ex pro but he is happy with own cue so has decided to give to me to sell for him £-make a good offer

I own (and play) a Acuerate Classic (ordered it 7 years ago to my specs).
Mine had some flaws (finishwise, which was a bit of a disappointment but had it re-done), apart from that a great cue, wouldnt trade or sell it. Payed €375, came with two telescopic extensions in a nice case.

Acuerates have a unique (slim) tapering (especially on the 8.75mm ones) which you love or hate - I loved it right away, sold my old cue (Mastercue 147) to afford the Classic. They ones I came across all had really great shafts (lovely grain, straight chevrons, rather stiff, very responsive). Over the last years I've tried out loads of cues (Mastercues, O'Mins, Wooldridge, Hunt&Osborne, Parris), still wouldnt trade.
The deflection thing of course is just marketing, it's only you cueing straight or not.
