    Question for the cue makers

    Can someone explain the black bit on the end of the butt in this picture please? Seen this on a few cues but surely the decorative splices would run right through to the end?

    Gives the impression of having a block stuck on the end after to increase the length which I'm sure is not the reason.

    I'd say it's just decrotive.

      The bottom splice as we're looking at it could be ebony, allowing the the end piece to be part of it in sort of a L shape
