  • 2 point vs 4 point splicing

I've only started playing snooker regularly a few months ago and I bought myself one of the cheaper powerglide cues (mainly so I don't have to pick a random cue from the club I play at, most of which are bent), it has a rosewood butt and only 2 splices, I haven't seen it on any other cues in the 'post a picture of your cue' thread. I was wondering if there is a significant difference in how the cue plays between the 2 point splicing and seemingly more normal cues with 4 main butt splices?

There is not difference in how they play, only look.
A two butt spliced - or butterfly-spliced - cue are not as common as a four-spliced cue.
Famously Marco Fu used to (up till recently) used a butterfly-spliced cue made by Kevin DeRoo in Canada.
Do you know the make of your cue?

    ps, welcome to TSF

ok thanks, your reply is appreciated
It's a Powerglide Swerve tournament cue. 57", 18oz, 9.5mm tip (i put an elkmaster tip on as soon as I got it because it came with some random one) ash shaft, rosewood butt with a couple of veneers in there.

ps, thanks, seems like a great community of people, one thing that stands out is how respectful people are towards others, which is unusual for the internet haha.
