Macassar Ebony For Butt Wood

Hi guys.
I want to use Macassar Ebony for the butt of my 1pc cue,but i found that most of cues use the african ebony, how about the macassar ebony butt? it`s good?

Yes à lot of the old cues had macasser butts,hard to get gd stuff though and not cheap.

Looks far nicer in my opinion. I love to see a few streaks in the grain pattern. Makes it look like real wood. A perfect piece of african thats been laquered can often look like its been painted on.

Macassar can be stunning especially the tightly grained variety. I have a Tony Glover cue that has lovely macassar spliced on to a fantastic ash shaft, the pictures make it look a little darker than it is in the flesh.

I am really looking forward to getting it back from him after an alteration.

Yes his work is awesome as u say it's me rather than cue what was the balance point on your cue Dave ?
