  • Advice needed on name plates

Hi all, I've just registered on here but have been reading and learning from you all for a few years now! Thanks.

I started making my own cues last summer and am doing quite well well with it. I've been repairing and altering cues as well as brewing my own cue polish for a few years now and was pleasantly surprised with the result when I first had a bash at making my own cue out of a length of scrap oak the chippies were skipping at work!

Anyways, I'm halfway through making a batch of 12 maple one piece cues and will be requiring name plates, preferably discs, and can't find a reasonably priced supplier. I'm prepared to place a bulk order but begrudge paying upwards of £30 per plate.

Has anyone got any suggestions either of reasonably priced suppliers or ways to DIY?

The first few I've made I've ended up using printed card toped with clear epoxy resin but soon realised that this is pretty permanent and the name plate can't be changed to add the name of the owner.

Thanks in advance and I'll make sure to post some pics when the cues are finished!

    Brad
