  • Late tickets for crucible.

Last year around this time tickets that the players didn't want were released to the public, row e/f i think they were.

I managed to get some for the opening weekend and was hoping to do the same this year but unless I missed it, they don't seem to have done the same yet.

Does anyone know if this is going to happen this year, don't think it was after qualifying event last year as they doesn't give much time to get them sent out but I guess collection from box office is an option.

I have 5 tickets for some sessions in the first week. Tuesday evening. Wednesday afternoon and evening. Thursday afternoon and evening. All table 1. Due to a family illness it looks like I'll have to cancel my trip. Gutted. Was thinking of posting them for sale on the Forum. Good seat near the front behind where the players sit. If any interest let me know. Think one of the tickets is for Ronnie's second round match assuming he gets through round 1.

Definitely interested in any tickets - I'm happy to buy singles or pairs, as I have a friend who's quite keen to go. Some tickets are still available via the Crucible site, but it's maddening not knowing what matches you're buying(unless I've missed a way of knowing who's playing where, except Ronnie)

I agree its a slightly crazy system only knowing one part of one match when the booking system opens, I guess with new rolling ranking system its just the way it is.

However since the first of this month, after the final update, you can at least see which of the top 16 is playing in which match.

I think Ronnie's second match (match 17) is scheduled to be Thursday evening , Friday afternoon and concludes Saturday am.
Don' think Ronnie will like a three day spread for that match much and he might try hard to win it in two sessions.

Interested in the Thursday evening and possibly afternoon tickets, if you still have them? Don't think I can send you a message, though I've added you as a contact on this forum, whatever that means..?

Pretty sure it's top half plays on table one, bottom half plays on table two, and the schedule for the top 16's matches are up on World Snooker. Unless you want to know when the qualifiers are playing...? In which case I agree; would be nice to know but can't be helped I guess!

The problem with the old system of booking was that sessions with the popular players were sold out and sessions with less popular players were empty. The new system, I think, tried to make sure that all sessions were well attended. Not sure if it's worked or not. You still see a fair few empty seats for some matches.

Thanks for the interest guys. Would prefer if someone bought all 5 tickets but if I can divide them up and keep a few people happy I'll try my best. Tickets cost me £110. Not looking to make a profit, just minimise my losses! Bought train tickers for £70 which are non refundable and expecting that the Novatel will hit me with a cancellation charge. Oh well that's life. No amount of money will make up for the fact that I'm missing my Crucible visit. Highlight of the year for me.
PS heading out now so more later.

Are they 5 tickets for 5 matches or what? Depending what they are, I've no objection to buying the lot and any I don't want I'll offer to others on here or whatever. Just let us know exactly what we're talking about when you get back. Sorry you can't go, man - it's the highlight of my year too.

Fair enough, sounds likes gavpowell's your man!

To be honest, I managed to get tickets for the Thurs evening session from World Snooker so I'm not too bothered. Was just hoping to get a cheeky seat upgrade if possible since it's back in row N, then sell/give a mate my original ticket.

Shame you can't go, hope all's ok with your family.

Cheers Moose, Thursday evening will be good. Ronnie on Table 1 and Robbo on Table 2.
For those of you interested here's the tickets I have. NB. Info based on provisional format on the World Snooker website.
                    1) Tuesday April 22 7.00 PM Ricky Walden v Qualifier.
                    2) Wednesday April 23 2.30 PM Marco Fu v Qualifier.
                    3) Wednesday April 23 7.00 PM Mark Davis v Qualifier.
                    4) Thursday April 24 1.00 PM Mark Davis v Qualifier.
                    5) Thursday April 24 7.00 PM Rocket Ronnie v Joe Perry. ( assuming they win their 1st round matches)
Hopefully some big names come through the qualifiers. Maybe Jimmy? Steve Davis? You never know.
If anyone has any questions please let me know.

Well, I don't want the Walden or Fu tickets, so if anyone wants them, I'd be happy to forego them. Quite like watching Mark Davis so happy to take those and obviously Ronnie. But if nobody else wants Fu or Walden I'll take the lot as agreed and whack the spares on ebay or whatever.

Thanks Gav, if you were to do the e-bay bit for the extra tickets that would help me out. Why don't we leave it a few days to see if anyone wants the ones you don't. Still got plenty of time.
Once the draw gets made Fu v Wenbo would be attractive to the Chinese folk and Walden v Jimmy White would be a sell -out. Wishful thinking on my part for the latter. Lol.
Ronnie and Davis marked as sold to you.

I'd be torn over seeing Jimmy - I loved watching him play, but the trouble is he can't play anymore. He'd blow the roof off the Crucible if he qualified one last time, but the chances of him winning more than a frame are slim

But yep, will give it to the end of the week and if nothing's happened by then, I'll sort out with you for payment.

I have a spare for tomorrow night now, 7pm ronnie's second session, row c middle section so can see both tables.

Also after a single for anything tomorrow if anyone ends up with any spare, many thanks.
