  • Mezz entering the Snooker Cue market.

    Hi all.

For a very long time Mezz has been a leader in 8/9 Ball Cues in the U.S.A and i was having a browse around a well known Aussie high end snooker suppliers website and saw that Mezz are now making what they claim to be a VERY high end Snooker Cue called the V95 after a 20yr absence from Snooker Cue making.

    http://sharpsnooker.com.au/products/...5-snooker-cue/

    1) Patented weight bolt shaft system the first for cue sports
    2) United Mezz snooker joint unlike any others in the market, precise engineering
    3) V95 shaft – V stands for pie and the 95 for the shaft ferrule size incorporating the mezz Patented weight system
    4) Choices of three butt timbers ebony, bocote and cocobolo.
    5) Quality mini extension matching the cue butt
    6) Highest grade Canadian rock hard maple
    7) As its CNC made extra shaft are available which is a great benefit over other suppliers
It is not cheap ( $900 Australian dollars ) and in pounds it would be around the 500 mark. Does anyone know anything about these and what do you guys think??

          Yeah for sure mate.

I have no doubt he will love them though and fully endorse them!!

Like others have said though at that price they would want to be good considering what that money can buy you.

they do look expensive for a cue made with a machine.

Exactly, i could imagine the profit margin for them as well. The Mezz badge seems to be why they are asking $900 for them i reckon!!

In saying that though i have not played with one but i doubt i ever will at that price unless someone around the traps happens to get one i can have a hit around with.

If anyone is in Sydney they can visit ( Michael ) Sharpsnooker by appointment and see them in the flesh and play with them, this would be great if someone could give us a review of the Cue as the suppliers comments and endorsements mean little as they want to sell them and are not going to give an honest bad review at all which is understandable when trying to sell a $900 machine made Cue.

Yeah i totally agree. It is not his fault at all and he needs to make something or else it would be no point doing it and he is virtually all we have in Australia for decent snooker stuff. You guys are spoilt in the U.K for choice!!

I just wish he stocked more brands of snooker Cues instead of just Peradon and Phoenix and he is the only supplier i really buy from.

had this conversation with him - it is very difficult for him to get suppliers.

                          Yeah it is a shame.

I would love to see him stock some GBL, Omin or even Dunn's Cues etc and you can get some good quality cues in the 150-250 pound range and even some higher end hand made UK stuff but if he cannot get them at a decent price for him to make some coin on them to he would have to charge to much when selling them and nobody would buy them as it would be cheaper to source them directly yourself!!

I am always confident buying from Michael though as you know 100% you will get your item when stated and as advertised, customer service is great to.

I think we're lucky to have a retailer like this in Australia. He's had some great quality Phoenix and King cues in his range from around the $350 mark. That's a huge improvement on anything we could get here in the past

I'd like to see what's on the business end of these Mezz cues, and what the taper is like.
                            Tear up that manure-fed astroturf!

I agree and my Phoenix 1 piece i purchased from him is an absolute cracker and i love it but it was a bit more than $350!! Not complaining though as this will be my Cue for years i reckon and i am rapt with it.

Peradon i am not a fan of and will not be touching them again, that Mezz cue i would love to get my hands on to see what it is like.
