  • Any information about powerglide statesman cue

    hi,
I've just seen an advert for a power glide statesman cue, 55".http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Snooker-Cu...tem4ae0ee55d9\
I've been looking for a 55" cue, so was wondering if anyone had any idea as to the quality of this cue,
    thanks

Just won a powerglide statesman off eBay needs some work doing but for a 1 piece for £25 it's worth a punt. Will post about the condition and when I finish it.

Ok so i got the cue its in ok condition with a slight bend near the butt and at the tip. I sanded all the old varnish off the cue which got rid of imperfections in the surface. Came up lovely fitted an elk master 9.5 mm tip and used beeswax all over the cue to give a nice finish. I also taped the cue to a straight edge and managed to get some of the warp out. Will play with it tonight. Specs 58" long 9.5 mm tip maple shaft with rosewood butt 17 oz weight.

Cheers Andy I've only been playing now for a couple of months I use a Geordie pool 3/4 ash but I'm not getting on with it thought I would give a 1 piece cue a go it's an inch longer as well for £25 it's almost like a disposable cue if you get my meaning. Any ideas how maple compares to ash playing wise ?

had couple hours with the statesman first impressions it is a much thicker cue than my ash one and seems to give a more solid hit.the butt is thicker as well it feels more substantial .the slight warp is a bit offputting but if i turn cue it goes out of eyeline.i didnt play any worse with the powerglide so i think i will use it for the next few months and see how it unfolds.andy question for you:could the shaft be made slightly thinner by sanding or will this ruin it ?my ash cue is slightly thinner and slides slightly better thanks.

The taper can be reduced to make it thinner, best get someone who knows what they're doing to do it though
