Cue dent identification

Please help identification a dent or is it a gouge in my shaft? Happened by fixing the cue when I used rapid cue top sanding machine. and how to repair it? any helps? regards

If its a dent - hold the dent over boiling hot steam from your kettle for about 10-15 seconds, this should return the dent to normal. You may need to use a bit of very fine sand paper to smooth it off and then re oil your cue. WARNING- this worked for me on a cheap cue with no problems, not sure i would do it on a £500+ cue, so dont blame me hehe.
If its a gouge, then i dunno, maybe some wood filler or something.

I think the wood is impressed from the cue fixer of the sanding machine! I also had this wear marks on my maple billard cue but there I get them off with wet baby ear drops sitting on the wear marks. but on my ash cue it dont works as good! Foto-0130.jpg

Get a cotton wool bud wet and tape it on the cue where the dent is using masking tape and leave over night this will make the wood swell up and you can then gently sand the cue down, works a treat and wont damage the cue. done this a few times now and worked perfect every time, then just re-oil cue after sanding to seal the wood.

Or you can get a damp tea towel put it over the dent and put the point of a hot iron on it. This will draw out the dent if it's not too deep in a few seconds. Then dry and re-oil.
If the dent is too deep you might need to get it sanded or planed by a professional.

You may try to use a damp paper towel & an electrical iron to fix these dents. First, put the damp paper towel on a dent then use the point of the heated iron to heat up the damp paper towel under it. You may hear the sound of like "hiss", then you lift the iron. The dent should be raised this way. You may have to try a few more times to raise the dent in this method. You don't need to use sand paper to erase the dent. hope this will help.
