Didn't day remove it just enuf to see if it's a different material or colour, lol.

That's old fashioned wood resin, you could take that out and very carefully do a small butterfly joint if you can match the timber

lol..... ive been after one of those for years. They just have a better feel than the more modern kiln dried, correctly weighted, butt socketed Ultimate's.
