  • Old Cue Auction

Earlier this evening, in my club, there was an auction of old cues and cases which had belonged to either ex members or deceased members.

I managed to win three of the auctions and just wondered if anyone has any idea of the value of them so that I know if I have paid too much or even too little for them.

    1) a full length (58in) machine spliced Permac Olympic maple one piece cue.

    2) a full length (58in) machine spliced News Of The World prize ash one piece cue

    3) a very short (54in) hand spliced one piece ash Tom Newman 1370 cue.

    Thanks

      Sounds about right.

I like the old Permac Olympic cue.

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
      I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Thanks John, I had guessed at 1) £40 2) £40 and 3) £20 and I actually paid less than £80 for all three and I got a nice old metal case thrown in as well!!

I thought that the Tom Newman would be a nice first cue for a child as its nice grain and 9.5mm ferrule.

          Cheers

Yes it would be a great kids cue for sure. Were they any super rare cues up for sale then?

No John, nearly all the other cues were rubbish, the club gave me the job a few weeks ago to open all the cases and catalogue all the cues I was rather hoping to find a Ye Olde Ash or similar!!

Never mind the medium flex, I'll take any time machine - stiff or not!
