Adr147 super soft tip review.

Tried my ss tip tonight, fitted flush to a 9.4mm ferrule, left high. First of all the tips are very easy to fit and shape, it held green Triangle chalk aswell as an Elk, the grip is great, played some masse shots just to test the grip and see if it would hold up to it, passed with flying colours! It did flatten out a little but after a quick reshape held its shape for the rest of the night. Although they're soft they still have enough feel, if you like softer tips eg Elks, you'll love these.

Totally agree.

Played with mine tonight for a good three hours. Purposely used plenty of action on the cueball on certain shots. Gripped very well indeed.

Think these will be very popular. I like a cue without feeling I have a stone on the end of it and this tip definitely does the job.

they are too soft for my personal taste but people that like soft tips appear to like them!

Gave mine a good go yesterday. Tipping wise I always use a fresh scalpel and it cut through like butter, even used it to start the doming off, shaped up easilly with a quick sand and all done in 5 minutes. Anyone who's ever tried to put on a hard elk and given up at the first attempt should have another go at tipping with Andy's tips, so easy to trim and shape.
In and around the balls in practice, lovely feel, very grippy and held its shape well after bedding it in with the cue ball, nice thunk to it which I like.
I have to say it didn't suit my game though, tend to hit the ball a bit to hard in matches, especially after a couple of pints, and had to reshape a few of times due to flattening, found myself constantly fiddling with it, but always do with black tips for some reason?
I think probably best suited to pool, as I practice on an 8ft table and had no issues with it initially, just those full length power shots trying to keep the white straight on a club table that took its toll on it!
You can't beat the medium for snooker, and has to be tan!

know what you mean, it is only recently that I have tried a laminated tip; the only previous experience was the tip on my snooker cue when it came to me from the previous owner, it was like having a lump of stone on the end - yuck, so that came off for an Elk.
But a few years later I thought I would try a ADR Soft, sceptical - very, but pleasantly and astonishingly surprised.
Don't know what ADR has done for sure (thinner layers?) but the Soft I have is very nice and consistent and I am playing very well with it.
I would not say I am a laminate convert - I will not try those Granites/kamui/etc and will probably go back to an Elk if I want a pressed

Noticed one comment though, Pro Granite tips are compressed not laminated and are very good tips for compressed.

Welcome to the forum.

Make sure you have a sharp / new scalpel blade if you intend to trim it, makes life much easier.

I found the medium a little hard for my tastes, but then again i like soft tips.
