How long would you wait?

Hi folks
I've had a JPU on order since the 31st July last year and at the time of ordering the Parris website stated 8-12 months delivery time. So assuming worst case scenario I still have nearly 3 months to wait yet (order is still in received status).Though they had a bit of bumpf saying if it takes longer it is only cause they are perfectionists etc etc blah blah. Now I'm also aware that since then on the website the lead times have went up to 12-18 months and they have put additional info on saying due to increased demand and that they cannot be held responsible for delays (insert more blah blah here). So a couple of questions: Firstly on a contractual basis can I hold them to their stated terms/ delivery times as advertised at the time I PLACED my order? Secondly, and this is my main enquiry; how long would you personally wait for delivery AFTER the longest quoted time frame had passed?
I'm investing a total of £1500 ( getting a cue case made as well) but I am sure as **** not going to wait 18 months plus when I was quoted 12 max. Just interested in how patient you all out there would be.

No written contract and they state there may be delays . So not sure if you have a leg to stand on there .

As for how long ........a year is plenty long enough in my book .

Ah but I'm Scottish and in Scottish Law verbal agreements are legally binding lol
As for the wait. I knew it was gonna be a long one but the more I hear/ read the more disheartened I get. I'm not prepared to wait longer than a year and if its the case that it is longer then I'll revert to plan B which is to pick up a second hand TW and CJ case. The more I think about that the more sensible it seems..........

I think your wait will be more 18-24 months for a 3/4 and 3 years for a 1 piece. If you just want one or a TW for the resale value then carry on. If its a player you are after then you could be disappointed as no matter what badge is on it you are taking a chance buying blind.

More sense to do it right, do it once. Get to Green Baize for the day and try out loads of cues. Or even ADR on here I'm sure would let you visit and try out a selection.

I have no interest in selling on for a quick buck mate. I know it won't make me a better player nor do I care about badge kudos. I have simply wanted a JP for about 30 years now since I was a youngster getting into snooker and first heard about JP. If I do get it and it's no good for me I can promise you I will sell it on at cost price (minus postage costs). I can understand why people might pay big bucks to jump the queue but I hate the practice of artificially inflating prices. But I suppose it's the old supply and demand chestnut. For me it a about appreciating the skill and care that's went into making something. My current cue I have had all my playing days just about and I regularly tell my family it's my oldest and best loved child.. and it is a gamble with a custom made I know but gotta give it a go once at least ; )

Was quoted 50 weeks when I ordered 31 months ago.. So a pretty damn long time. Still the status says received so I will have about 8-9months left I hope

I think with the quality of cues around these days and with the competitive prices you'd be a fool to wait anything over 12 weeks for a cue IMHO. As for those waiting years for a cue off JP is just a laugh out loud I'm afraid.

Don't see why not. Its a one hundred pound deposit and its not like people who have ordered really depend on it to play snooker. I've ordered but I also have a cue that I'm happy with. When it arrives it arrives. If i get on with it, then fantastic. If not, I can sell it for a huge profit considering the price has gone up by at least £250 since then. So, its not such a stupid decision as you make it out to be.
