  • Oldham teenager claims junior billiards crown

    HE’S an all-round green-baize wizard.

Oldham teenager Aaron Davies, who excels in three cue sports, has claimed the National Junior Billiards Tour title.

The 17-year-old won all four legs of the country-wide circuit, progressed through the last-eight play-off and compiled breaks of 75 and 51 en route to beating Matthew Lyon (Norfolk) 465-238 in the two-hour final at Longton Snooker Club, Stoke.

Davies took up billiards five years ago and has a high break of 139.

He has represented England at the three-ball game, won the 2015 Under-18 European Eightball Pool Championship in Malta and competes on the EASB Premier Junior Snooker Tour.

“I’ve been playing snooker since a young age which has helped me become a good billiards player,” he said.

“My dad (Martin) has been a big help as he takes me to all the tournaments.”

He's a nice lad as well.
Cant wait another few years when his younger brother gets around.
I think that he has a lot of potential at such a young age.
Not sure but think he's around 9 and plays in our league with Ryan. Playing a lot of guys giving them a start and playing a lot of shots with a rest due to his size.
