  • The Top Ten Cues You've Played With?

What are the top ten cues you've played with in terms of playability and suitability to your game? I've said 10 as there are some serious cue tarts on here! If less than ten, no probs!

    Here's mine:

    1. Purist (air-angel ash, late '80s). Woodier than a woody thing, max feel.
    2. JPU 1-piece (kiln angel?)
    3. Purist centre-split (air-angel, mid '80s)
    4. CJ ash
    5. Glover maple
    6. Powerglide custom ('80s, solid silver nameplate edition, air-angel)
    7. Cue Craft Monarch (and it was a 3/4 which goes against everything that makes sense!)
    8. Cue Craft Custom
    9. Parris trad (not mine, my mate's cue, another 3/4!)
    10. Phoenix custom (makes the list only because of how dynamic a cue this is for top power but clunk clunk clunk on the resonance front lol)

Tried hundreds of cues from many makers but these were the ones that stood out. Over to you.

Trying to cut back but the numbers run and run. So what are your top ten cues, including those you've made and played?

1- Trevor White 1 piece - best feel of a cue ever and my current playing cue

2- Robert Osborne 3/4 - 4 snake wood splices . The cue I had my only century with and would love to buy it back if I could .

3- Maximus Ultimate - One of the Higgins cues . Not mine but my mates . Awesome feel and if number 1 cue hadn't just come along , I would have bought it .

4- Trevor White 1 piece - Another Higgins cue . Not mine again , really nice feel

5- Tony Glover 3/4 - decent build and feel

6 - Keith Auld 3/4 - controversial this one , but bought this cue about 25 years ago from his shop at the time and was a decent cue for the money .

7- Reg Wright cue - made for Marco Fu . The finish and feel was superb . Never used it as his playing cue though .

That's about it ........the rest would be a struggle for my memory !!!

Forgot about another TW that I had .....that would have to sit in my top 5 .

I did have another TW .....but couldn't get on with it . Hence not in my top 7 or should that now be 8 !

Name dropping Pro's........memory is coming back now !!!

Tony Meo had an absolute mint H & O that was sitting in his loft for years ! ADR sold it and said it was the best he had ever seen . Only think it was used in Pool Event in Monte Carlo by him !
