Design for the Cue Plate of the first Air Angel Cue made from vintage (12yr+), air-dried ash.



Attached cue ticket will read: Hand Planed, Hand Spliced and Hand Finished by Craftsmen in England.

All cues individually numbered with the owners details via coded micro-chip inserts. This can only be changed by the cue maker, in an effort to stop fakes and thieves punting cues on ebay etc.

12mths (incl finding the ash, cutting and resting the cue properly, the JP way). Because of the difficulty of finding the remaining air-dried ash in excellent condition (the ****ers stopped laying it down unfortunately), it ain't gonna be cheap. I envisage driving hundreds of miles to find suitable bits. Then we have the 'I'd like X number of chevrons and the grain spacing needs to be this and the cue weight this' (i.e. indirect density specification) so finding a particular piece for each customer will be even more difficult.
I think 2k would be reasonable but what's reasonable is what folk think I guess(!).

£2k from an unknown cuemaker........reckon you would sell as many as Argos have of the limited edition Ronnie cue .

If he is well known then it is his name that should be on the badge, having your user name on the badge would de value any cue sorry to say, no one knows who you are and certainly wouldn't sell for more than £200 in my eyes

No chance, the wood would cost +200. You need to stop thinking cue doctor, crappy kiln wood and think of a new cue in a new mkt, beyond JP and Stamford.

Think Harrods retail, £3000, think HK, think Dubai, think NYC, Paris, Moscow. Think elite.

This isn't a cue, this is a work of art. Think fine furniture, think art.

Think exclusive. Think the only custom vintage air-dried ash cue in the world. I do mean the only brand. Think the Bugatti of cues.

Can't tell you bud! Good effort though. But I can tell you that the reason the cue maker's name won't appear is because that person will only make the cue. It will be finished by someone else to Aurora standards. Any marquetry or inlays will be done by an artist. So the brand is the thing, putting everyone's names on the cue would be silly. The certificate will contain their signatures of course.

I can understand the search for the best, but what are your credentials and what would make your cues so special that other well-established cue makers would not have thought of ? If you won't disclose who makes it, you don't have any chance selling a single cue at that price. In case you didn't know, it works like this: you start small, you build up a reputation and after 10 or odd years or so, you might sell one and that's when you put all your time in it day in day out.
