  • English vs Thai

Probably been asked a million times but how can you tell if a cue has an English or Thai ash shaft?

I very much doubt any ash comes from UK anymore, isn't it from North America or Thailand ??

I heard a lot of the ash used by the thai cue makers actually comes from Russia now

Russian ash? I suppose it doesn't really matter where it comes from as long as it is quality. Would be good if there was some kind of way that cue makers could give proof instead of just advertising that it's English ash and we have to take their word for it.

I doubt English ash has been used on any higher level of commercial cue making for many years, ?

MW and G-cues are just two I can find. But I always thought JP TW and RC were so high priced because of Engliah ash.
