  • J6UK's TUCA... my first thoughts.

After having the Tuca for about a week I thought I would give a brief review.

When I first got the Tuca I didnt know what to think... not much for your money (paid £20 however they have been reduced to £15 and I did recieve a £5 refund which was a suprise and not expected at all).

I thought I would probably get bored quite quickly; after all "its just hitting a whole".

Played for 45minutes with the original cards, holes seemed too big, cued straight through every time and im know brilliant player. I then changed to the "pro cards" dont let the name fool you these cards are spot on for anyone looking to improve.

I have sinced used this regularly, clipped the edge a few times which is what i needed as i then knew i had a challange. I now mentally visualise the line up, playing every shot with top spin, centre ball or backspin imagining how the break would go... If I clip the card on the way through then i count it as a miss.

This has not only improved my cueing, consistantly hitting centre ball but more importantly it has improved my focus and temper. I figure if I can focus on putting my tip through a hole (behave you pervs) then i can focus more on those easy shots when i often lose concentration. I also find this is helping me control my temper; hitting the card and getting that feeling of anger, but learning to settle down and start again.

I managed only my second ever century on line ups yesterday, my first since stopping for 5 years due to uni and then work. Yes this is easy for many of you guys but it shows improvement in my game.

£15 seems like a lot for what it is, but how much would you pay for that little extra confidence and a more consistent centre ball contact?

Give it a go I doubt you will regret it.

Yes always a good idea to practice things like this make yourself aware of things and get more solid but like many devices on the market - easily replicated for free.

get a book put a thin line of white or black tape down the front or back cover open cover and place on table - bingo you have yourself a sight right for example - or just use the baulk line.

thanks for the feedback wootton an good to hear your getting on,
this training does take some discipline but will iron out most if not all technical imperfections, even temper tantrums. its humbling
not easy to know where to start price wise. i make everyone of them by hand and that takes upto two hours then theres the trip to the postoffice to register post them wich is included. then the untold hours iv spent on photoshop creating the image, printing, matirals. anyway.. in return i get 1/3 of a tank of petrol i my 1.4 so, not a bad trade
