  • Length or bridge

Should the length of bridge be constant? Not talking about those shots that the cue ball is close to the cushion.

Because I find that if the bridge is too close i wont be cueing straight. But if it is too far, my wrist twist at the end of the stroke.

    What should be done?

perfect advert for the star academy. I'd definitely have a lesson or two from Barry, for sure.

Yes, this is how you do it, hold it where the tape is, bridge on the pencil mark, get down, deliver the cue in a straight line and bloody miss.
How on earth did he miss when he did everything right ? money back, walk out and never go back.

You would struggle to find a coach then vmax, everyone misses, even the best players on the forum miss occasionally.

                          No it wasn't.

Coaches like that take you backwards, they have a predetermined idea of an ideal technique that doesn't work for everyone, they get you to tinker unnecessarily, give you too much to think about.

I would have asked him why he missed, and if he couldn't answer me then it would have been money back, walk out and never go back.

nothing wrong with going back to go forwards. an im sure if you would of been in there with barry, he would of had you chopping bits off your cue to get you right on the shot, so as to time the white every time
as for why he missed, could of just been his first shot of the day

They all miss, when I went to see Chris Small he was showing me a routine to do, he mucked it up ,I did it first time, what does that prove? Absoloutly nothing. They are talking, they have things on their mind they want to get across, he was getting filmed, he cued one poorly, whoop de do,they are human beings, you can't say because they miss one shot what they are telling you or showing you is incorrect, surely you would understand that without having to ask him why he missed,Play him a best of five let's see how your technique holds up against his, if it wasn't in jest Vmax it's a bit of a poor statement in my eyes.
