    Good evening all,

Been a member for a while. Been a great forum to learn, read up and listen to experienced players.

Thought it was time to say a hello to all and hopefully contribute to posts.

Not a great player, only been playing for 18 months lost 3 months due to a rogue tackle from my youngest (daughter as well) that broke my leg.

Love the workmanship of making a great cue which is why I own too many!

My eldest daughter (yes the one tgat broke my leg) who has just turned 12 loves the game and is improving rapidly (faster than me).

I must say that I see alot of regular posters stating that the forum is getting stale due to certain members getting banned and same questions asked ..... but must say that I have found this place a very informative forum in order for my game to improve and hopefully my daughter could be part of this.

Although I agree and would like to see the likes of masterblaster / barry white back.

Speaking from the outside looking in (until now). There are people on here that contribute greatly to the game of this forum and I dont think you realise how much you help people who are just sitting in the shadows , so to speak.

I have enjoyed every minute of reading all your posts and I must say this forum has the most fantastic characters!

    Anyway enough from me!

    Thanks!

    Dave

Ah, another lurker emerges! Glad you decided to come in from the cold Dave, it's much more cumfy on the inside, I think.
BTW, sounds like your girl needs to take up rugby rather than snooker.

I must admit i was abit concerned regarding posting so long after joining as a member. I thought I would of been the longest lurker which put me off posting but saw others that have lurked longer. Lol! My daughter funny enough plays rugby as well as ballet and gymnastics athough I don't think that roy keane tackle she made was contributed to the rugby (inadequate footwear) . It was Probably due to a suspension of pocket money.

            Learnt my lesson!

Do you have a table at home Dave or do you take your daughter down to the club?

                  Hi Dean,

                  Jp classic for me.
Mannock machine spliced but ony 50" ( daughters cue)
Cue doctor, plain ebony and ash shaft from mid 90's terrible splices, heavy cue but rather rare.
Jp elite with kingwood splices as apposed to standard tuilip wood. Purchased last year for £200 took a gambke took it in to parris shop last week and he verified legit from early 90's. Looks like my daughters next cue.

Got my eye on a couple of Glover cues from a fellow member. Had a great Glover Melbourne replica but had a crap couple of frames and gave it to my uncle,! What a fool. Definitely the one but he won't give it back. Expensive mistake!

                  Regards

                  Dave

Back here again after years away , wanted to see if any Belfast NI lads about as i wanna start playing again , aint lifted a cue in years so might be a bit rusty , top break of 141 but would be happy with the 41 nowadays i guess.

                        :-)
