  • Pain in Left Shoulder

    Hi Guys,

I find that when I play 4 hours or longer that I ended up with a pain in the left side of my neck and shoulder area.

My left cheek does rest on my left shoulder, and I am left eye dominant.

Could that have something to do with it? The pain usually lasts for a day or a two at the most.

ive had the same injury recently and the only thing i can suggest is rest, it took about four weeks for mine to subside during that time i was playing snooker but it hurt to extend my left arm and to bare weight.

Do you play with a very straight bridge arm?

Sounds like a spasm caused by certain muscles being overworked due to taking on load of "lazy" muscles. I had this problem for quite some time till I visited a physio. On the road to recovery now with regular exercising to help strengthen the "lazy" muscles.
Would suggest you get evaluated by a physio.

I have this exact problem and after getting it checked out there's a minor tear in the tendon of my shoulder. Unknown whether it's been caused by years of pool and snooker or by golf, but I suspect golf a major culprit.

Can't really be repaired with surgery so you need to get physiotherapy to build up the muscles surrounding the tendon to give it better support. That and an over the counter anti-inflammatory will help.
Acting experience: When I play snooker and I make a shot, I act like I meant to do it.

I don't want to scare you but my friend was complaining of pain in his shoulder and the doctors were baffled until he had some tests done and he had pancreatic cancer.
The pain was called 'referred pain' as you don't have nerves down there so the pain occurs in a place that does have nerves.

Please get yourself checked out and find out I am wrong.
