  • Junior snooker in Waterlooville

WATERLOOVILLE Sports Bar has announced details of its new junior snooker section.

The go-ahead club that opened just under three weeks ago has already signed World Snooker coach Tim Dunkley to run a Wednesday evening session for boys and girls aged seven to 19.

Owners Suzy and Steve Wilson (Cuestars Gold Tour player Jamie Wilson’s parents) said the cost will be £4.50 for two hours from 4.30-6.30pm. Complete beginners are welcome and the launch date is December 14.

Interested players are urged to ring Suzy on 02392 256808 or send her a message via www.facebook.com/Wsportsbar/ to register their names

The club boasts ten snooker tables - of which half have professional standard Strachan No. 10 cloths - separated by a glass partition from a massive bar area that includes five pool tables, dartboards and a couple of televisions.

Easily reached just off the A3, it is located on the Aston Road Industrial Estate and has a huge free car park, air conditioning and, I’m reliably informed, nice ladies’ toilets – which are probably the three most important things for modern clubs.

The building was formerly Waterlooville Snooker Club, which shut its doors five years ago. It was totally refurbished by new owners Suzy and Steve and opened on September 10 to rave reviews.
