  • Two piece portable rest.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a two piece portable rest? The sort of thing I have in mind would be mid-jointed & slightly shorter than an average cue.It would have a removeable head with a full metal-to-metal joint & ideally have different inter-changeable rest heads - i.e. cross head & spider.

How to build a portable rest.
    1. Buy one brass rest of your choice.
    2. Buy the cheapest two piece you can find - usually around a fiver
    3. Screw rest onto the ferrule end of the cue until tight.

    NOTE:
Removing tip from cue is optional

You can but one of those portable rest head things, it just pushes onto a cue. A mate of mine has one but he lives in Germany and he mainly plays American pool. No idea where he got it, but have a look at some more pool orientated websites. IMO this thing is better than a crosshead rest, since you can put your cue lower for screw shots.

a bit pricey but has all the heights, just slips over any cue

That's the one my mate has, even pricier, lol. Nice piece of kit though.

            Two piece portable rest.

ADR recently showed something very similar.
Easier to put something like this in your case than a 2pc with two brass rest heads

Why not just use the rests supplied by the club or comp, as the pros do? Oh look, there's a spider under the table! LOL

                    Two piece portable rest.

I have one of those Q-rite thingies in my case for years and only used it twice - advantageously I might add. Nice to have but still use the supplied rests
When necessary I tend not to use the swan-neck but the extended spider - cue less likely to jump out of the slot
