    Hi Everybody!

Am in the market for a cue. As I mention before as a low level player I don't want spend a lot of money just yet Up until I become a more solid player. With that said, I would like to share with everybody What I'm looking for so if anybody can help or advice, much appreciated!

I'm 5.7 - 1.73 cm high -so i guess 57" length should be ok - if not please advice
I like the cue to be heavy , i can play and pot way better with a heavier cue, so at least 19.5 oz dare to say 20.5 to 21 oz . Again open to advice or suggestion
I would like the tip to have soft touch, especially with a heavy cue and up to 9.5 tip size
Finally I like 3/4 joint cue and not looking for veneers and extra designs !Like to keep it simple! Most important don't want to spend more than £100-£125 pounds- If anybody can suggest and advice on alteration on what i wrote above very much welcome as well as any cue makers or suppliers that can provide what i wrote above!

    Thank you

57" will be fine, you could even get away with 56". Call Stu at Greenbaize

      http://www.greenbaize.com/category/cues/mastercue/

He could sell you a Mastercue or Mastercue Probutt for £125, lovely cues. Or you could buy a Grand cue on ebay for that money as well, great cues for the money. Stu has a huge selection and will undoubtedly be able to meet your specs. These cues are incredible value.

I don't think you should go above 19oz. Most pros are playing with 17-18oz. It's all about cue action, not just adding more weight for power. A lighter cue tends to be easier to use to control the cue ball in the balls when fine position is needed.

        i can'nt speak for OP.

But most players ( i've spoken to or seen ) playing with a cue heavier than 19 oz, got regret their decisions after a while.

          Yep I did.....

Contact James Butters through facebook, the cue I got from him is brilliant and was a snip at £160 (there were cheaper options available)

Sorry to but in but does anyone know if you can actually go and see James Butters to pick a cue, he's only up the road from me, but I can understand if he doesn't want folk at his house or wherever he makes his cues.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

I'm not sure if you can visit but only have good words to say about the man. Markz noticed some cues on there and I contacted James and 2 days later the cue arrived, £160 including delivery, fully badged and its a lovely cue just a shame i'm useless!

I'm perhaps not doing my cue justice by not playing as much as I should

I don't know for sure but i've heard rumours that only the cues he's happiest with go on to become badged.
