  • Cushion questions

    Two questions:

When we look at the cushion, is the whole of the green section (the bit covered in cloth) all rubber, or is it another material faced with rubber?

Does the rest of the cushion (the wooden part) have a name? I'm thinking rail, but I know this is a general US term for cushion so I'm not sure.

          Cushion questions

under the baize will be wood and sometime a length of steel, "steel cushion" type. in the past it was mahogany or oak depending on maker, table model, etc.
I will try to find the images of the construction of the rails.

hopefully the time-served table fitters will pop up on here with their knowledge
