  • New old kid on the block

    Hi all,

New to the world of making cues for others that are not family...

Thought I would see what people think of my latest cue.
Already sold but thought i would try something a little different with this one..

For that one you've always wanted...

    Well its different -

Not my cup of tea with the design but shows you have some talent for this - One fault for me would be the badge not sitting flush enough it seems.

I think the badge is reverse printed acrylic so the acrylic will be flush. Reason it looks sun flush is because the edges of the acrylic are not polished. They are rough from laser cutting. I found thi out when trying a new supplier for my badges and the quality was no where near as good so when back to the original one. I learnt you get what you pay for.

is this why AT and RC, etc. have the brass surround to hide the side flash?

Yes you are right about the badges and is flush.

I have started another thread that shows some of my other work...
Not a beginner with wood, have been an antique furniture restorer for over 30 year's, so know my way around wood.
Plus playing cue sports for longer than I would like to remember lol

            If anyone wants to look.
It's "Some of the reasons i can make a cue"

Good thing with them badges, they can be used if round butts...

Quite possibly, as there is quite a difference in price between a polished edge and un polished approximately £6 per badge. Imo it's worth it as it makes the look a lot cleaner

Theoretically yes, but it will never be the same as out of the manufacturers. Trying keeping the disc perfectly round and without reducing the size by doing it yourself. Too much hassle and unreliable. I'd rather pay the extra and so do most others (same supplier). In a couple of weeks I'll take a picture side by side and you can compare the difference.
