  • Reardon On Snooker

Found a youtube playlist of all the parts of this video.

    https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...MIUbcMbau6rdXx

Its noticeable just how much he pops up on the shots yet he mentions a few times that he stays still on the shot. Still its interesting to wach.

Not sure what was going on with the butt of his cue in part 2, seems to have some type of grey tape on it he says to give him more grip.

The "grey tape" is plastic padding car filler. Alex Higgins had the same stuff on the end of his cue in his 2mins 55secs century from 1972 (see youtube)

Ray mentioned his cue was 4ft 7 1/2, I make that 55.5 inches, quite a short cue for a tall player?

this was the video that I recalled a few years ago where I heard him say this and mentioned this on a few threads about tall players and cue length, not sure how tall Ray was back then but he must have been 6ft plus; as you say a short cue for a tall player...

Thanks for this because I've just been looking through his videos and there is a sea of classic snooker footage. It all looks VHS so he must have faithfully recorded as much as he could of anything Snooker and them digitised them for youtube. I used to do that but only have a few tapes and nothing very interesting. Even the interval and special features the BBC makes during the latter stages of tournaments can have classic footage I've never seen before. Also painful memories if you think of the Full Monty escapade

Not six foot plus, about five eleven, six foot as I have a photo of myself and Ray at an exhibition he did in '77 and I'm about two or three inches taller. Short cue because it split at the end and he had it cut down.
