  • why dous Ebdon get so much action

Why is it that Peter Ebdon seems to defy all logic (big 11MM tip) and yet produce much cue ball action? Magnificent74

Because he is a class player and times the ball well.

Some bod on tv said he is using a tip made from Avocado. I'm not sure if it was a tongue in cheek comment though.

That was Kyren Wilson when doing the taxi thing with Steve Davis.
He's been practicing with Ebdon pre World Champs.

OP might want to watch that Canadian snooker championship stream, 2 guys getting plenty of action using pool bats.

More down to timing than the size of the tip.

Does it have anything to do with that black thing on the end of his cue?

Just for everyone's education regarding the comment on Canadian players using pool bats. They might be 2pc cues centre-joined like pool cues but believe me they have snooker shafts. A lot of player play both snooker and pool and have different shafts for each game.

But for the size of the tip I'd use a predator z shaft for cue ball reaction any day over a snooker cue. It's only the fact that they don't do them in 9.5-10mm that stops me from using 1. It's nothing to do with cue ball reaction though. Purely touch in the balls and cushion shots. From middle to long distance it feels like cheating using one.
