  • List of cue makers/sellers?

Gud Moaning, A casual search for a new cue led me to stumbling upon this forum. Only a casual player but surprised at reading through some of the many threads, how many go to people there are for cues. I've heard of John Parris and a few other makers cough cough who seem to be high street options but seems theres many I've never heard of who are spoke of with praise. Just wondering if theres a list somewhere on here to make the search easier. Looks like member websites section hasn't been updated with anything new for awhile. Reading some of the threads I can see members with Ebay shops and or a FB page but seems to be a mission to track down how you go about starting the buying process with others who make no mention of a website etc. Originally I thought to treat myself to a John Parris Classic but after reading a few threads I have a few niggling doubts now as what to pick?

literally hundreds mate and with most cuemakers one can expect a decent cue. Problem is some cuemakers are a bit dodgy with their dealings and at very least test your patience.

If you post exactly what you're looking for you'll get many responses at prices far below a new Parris.

Might be an idea to post up where your based about and see if there's anyone local to you. I was in the same position as you about 10 years ago. Had really only heard of John Parris.

Just a quick one off the top of my head

Places with various makes available immediately: Greenbaize, ADR147 (on here), Craftsman
Made for you in reasonable time (4-8 weeks) J6UK (on here), VMAX (on here), Richie Mcdonald (on here), Mike Wooldridge, Wright Cues
A bit longer (3-6 months) Glover Cues, Ton Praram
Never! Trevor White, John Parris, Stamford

Like I said, a quick one and I've probably missed a few. Plenty of choice, all subjective.

If you are close to London you could get a Parris Classic off the shelf from the shop or visit Robert Osborne at his workshop.

Andy Travis, James Butters. James Butters is great to deal with and from what I have read so is AT.

Please don't contact me with a specific order as I simply make cues and if someone wants to buy one then they can.

Yep more then I expected. Read some of the horror stories on here where no contact etc. Fingers crossed I pick a good one and all goes well.

Thanks for all the replies, very helpful. I'm based in Enfield North London so close enough for a trip to John Parris & Robert Osbourne. I think some more research is needed.

Yeah small world, I recognize the fire escape in your photos on your FB page. I believe you were having a chat to Chris on the corner table a couple of weeks back who swears by his JP Ultimate

I got to ask, Ninja cues? Does Ninjutsu and Shurikens feature heavily in your game? Thats a rough game and has anyone actually seen a Ninja cue?

Yes that would have been me and after telling him about my beech cue, he is interested in giving it a go...

Only when people get to lucky, one in the back of the leg helps my game some
Only a few have lived after seeing one but they had the good sense to buy one

After a recent Parcelforce cock up I can 100% back Andy Travis' service and the cue is faultless.

Jason Owen is also a pleasure to deal with.
