  • A fun safety routine 😁

It's probably been posted in some form already but here goes...

Position all the balls as if you were starting a frame. Break off.

Now here comes the twist. Don't pot anything. Every time you play a safety and get it past the baulk line you score a point (or any other points system you prefer).

If you get it to within an inch from the top cushion you score 5. Again create your own points system with your pals.

Also any other variations pop in here and see if we can all improve on our safety!
Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.

put a few (say 4, then 5) reds and put them spread out along the baulk cushion, then aim for the gaps, changing which gap as you go; as you get more proficient aim to hit the balls and not the gaps
      Up the TSF! :snooker:

Did that with a coach called John Wood at the Hurricane Rooms in Kings Cross when I had a lesson with him . It is a good routine and gets you thinking about safety play .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

          Try this safety

Having another lesson on safety with Brian Cox in New Year, but try this...

This is a variation of the routine he showed me in a previous lesson.

All 3 colours on the baulk spots.

two reds halfway in between baulk cushion and the three colours.

Red on the pink spot. Play CB from anywhere behind baulk line.

Try to pot red - miss colours and get past the two reds to top cushion.

1 point for potting red as a shot to nothing. 1 point for getting past the two reds, and 2 points for landing plum on baulk cushion.

1 point is docked if you hit the baulk colours or dont get past the baulk line on way up.

Play the scoreboard in a best of 7...!
