  • Best Ever Advice

Just wondering people, of all the tips and advice you've ever heard or been told, what's the one thing, the BEST tip you found most useful?
The one that stuck with me was from a mate called Paul Newman in 1987, my first League match (away) for Wharton Cons, he said; "Play your own game Dave". Gave me the confidence to not worry too much about the situation or letting people down, and as I improve it still makes sense today.

Similar to you - when I was about to go for an interview at Cambridge University, my father said to me: "Just be yourself.". It calmed my nerves and I came away from the day feeling that I'd done myself proud.

      Oh, you mean at snooker!

That would have to be on an Internet forum. I wasn't really going anywhere, and someone gave me some good advice about really concentrating on every shot. Where do I want the cue ball to go? He also talked about my posture, preparing for the shot, and various practise routines that helped to improve my technique.
