  • Ton Praram III Ranges

Hello fellow TSF members, i am in the market for a snooker cue and decided to contact ton praram for a TP series 2 pro the price is around 250 £, i also asked him for a beyond cue the price is starting at 430£. he said that in term of playability it will be pretty much the same but he added that beyond cue will be better.

I am sure you guys will tell me that it depends on me and my level at the game so here is a bit about my standards : i go to snooker 2 to 4 times a week, my highest break is 73 and can regularly score 40s if i put my mind in it. i ve owned a woods cue before but felt like i had a mental block with it because of 2 reasons, cue vibrates sometimes when i hit CB and i started to notice yellowish spots on the shaft. ended up selling it.

I've read that ton praram cues are stiff and has a good feeling so wich choice should i go for? tp s2 pro or beyond cue?

a friend has a S2 Ton Praram cue and I would say it is on the stiff side in feel, AND I would say it is a lovely cue

Whether Tom Praram deliberately makes his cues stiff I don't know
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

There's lots of things that influence the stiffness I think. I have a TP Series 2 in maple which I thought would be fairly stiff. Personnally I find it whippier than my other cues. The reason is I think is that I asked Jack to alter the taper a bit from what he normally does. I like cues to be slimmish over my bridge hand. It was only a tiny adjustment but maybe it made the cue slightly whippy. To be honest I'm never sure about stiffness. For me the cue either plays nice or it doesn't.
As regards Beyond v Series 2 then its just a case of you get what you pay for. Pay more and get a better looking shaft!

you see i only talk about the playability in the post, im willing to sacrifice the good looking shaft aspect for half the price as long as i have arrows aligned with the badge
