supposedly the first foul on the black is a frame forfeit, would this happen if you had an unassailable lead? i presume not

it doesn't mean you lose the game if you foul the black, just that that's it, foul = stop playing and look at scores to see who wins.

I'm not sure if the scores are tied if it's a respotted black or if you play from where the balls ended up after the foul though

If you're seven ahead on the black and You foul and give seven to your opponent, then scores are level and it's a re-spot...

first foul on the black ENDS the frame..

to the other poster - if you had an unassailable lead you wouldn't be playing on, EXCEPT if it was aggregate snooker and again FIRST FOUL ends the frame.

as well as world snooker publishing the full rules for everyone to read, you can also read them in various languages on the EBSRA site.

...but not at this site because of some total f*cking bulls*it law about copyrighting which can't possibly be implemented fully in the context of the internet as a whole due to the vast extent of the culture of spreading the word and the size of the net, yet which has totally screwed up this well meaning and informative site by fans for fans by some spying busybody who has nothing better to do than sit around drinking tea and visiting forums they are not welcome in, and then losing all grasp of reality with a jobsworth head on issuing threats which could shut the site down, a site which harms no-one and is useful and informative as well as friendly.

Rant over... but the issue still bubbles under... no doubt to resurface when provoked in the future.
