    Good Afternoon to you all,

I have just found this forum and hopefully it will enable me to get answers to any snooker queries that I have and to pass on any of my limited knowledge!

I am currently in the process of constructing a snooker room at the rear of my garden to house a 10ft by 5ft table. Does anybody have any experiences with this size table?

One more question that I have is that I haven't played snooker for a few years now and I have become short sighted. I wear glasses for driving and watching t.v. etc but they would not be suitable for playing snooker as I my aim would overlook the rim of the glasses. I cannot wear contact lenses so I was wondering if anybody else was in the same situation.

Yes I have the same problem and can't wear contact lens cos of astigmatism..

you can get a wide range of larger lenses from all opticians now for your glasses and your optician (well mine did) will adjust the focussing point on your lenses to account for your eye position when down on a shot...
mine even offered to walk over to the snooker club to measure my eyes when down on a shot - but you can more or less replicate it by place chin on the counter or whatever...

Thanks for the reply, I had thought about larger lenses myself but i'm a bit worried about looking like a poor man's Dennis Taylor or an even worse looking Deidre Barlow - not that i'm vain of course!!
