Help Needed

Hi guys, I'm new to this so hope it's ok to ask, the cue I have at the moment is a mongrel lol, it is an O'min Shaft and a Trevor White butt as he made me a replacement about 10 years back after I managed to snap the butt...I would never part with this cue but what I want help with is trying to find an O'min like the original I had, it was bought in 2004 and the only O'mins I am able to find now are the Chinese ones, it is a 3/4 and it had a sort of 'Traditional' style like the cue Ronnie O'Sullivan uses

Any help would be much appreciated,

I think you'll have to buy an entire O'min cue from that time and cannibalise the joint from it and make a new butt.

If I were you, I'd just get a new cue.

Thanks for the reply, I don't even need a new cue and would never part with it now but I would just like to have a duplicate of the original, can't seem to find them anywhere, shame really because I think they are lovely cues but have been taken over by China from what I can understand

From what I understand this is not correct; there is still the Omin Thailand company, but due their lack of foresight, they partnered with a Chinese company to make cues under the Omin name in China; then the Chinese registered the name (as the Thais had not); so now there are two Omin cue maker firms.
People on here do know how to tell the difference between the two.

Yeah I get you mate, I would love another one but worried if I bought one online it wouldn't be the Real McCoy, IMO the originals shall we say are up there with any other cue on the market

I think if you read some of the old threads on here (by using the search function) a lot of people gave up on original O'min cues some time ago as it had become a lottery. People moved on to Maximus and Ton Praram as makers of same type/quality of cues.

Maybe someone like Sanman on here could advise better on getting your hands on a legit one, but id have to say people have pretty much moved on.

Thai O'min have a website. It's a terrible site, but there will be contact details so you can get some info and authorised dealers. If it's a design they still do shouldn't be too hard to get one.
