  • best make of snooker ball

ok well i'm going to buy some new snooker balls to practice with, and i want to get full size and weight ones, so i was wondering what are the most popular (or best) make of snooker balls? i looked at some full size 'supapro' ones in the red box, but they didn't seem the correct weight!

    can anyone help!

I agree, they're a lot more expensive than the supapros but they last a lot longer too. I've got a set of aramith pool balls that I think are of the same construction as their mid range snooker balls, as well as a full set of supapro snooker balls.

The supapro ones get scratched and even chipped in normal play, and require a huge amount of polishing to keep them looking half decent and playing well. The aramiths on the other hand are much more resilient and look and behave almost as new without ever doing any maintenance.

As for the weight, I can't really say. The supapro ones seem consistent enough and similar to me to the ones we have in our club, I'm not sure whether that's the correct weight or not.
