  • What cue length?

    Hi there.
I'm in the market for a new cue and will very likely end up getting one custom-made.
The reason being is that nearly all the cues on the shelf are 57" (a few are 58"). I'm 189cm tall (6 foot 2) and my old cue was about 58", although I've often felt I could do with a slightly longer cue.

My question is - how long should a cue be? I've heard shoulder height but I'm not sure if that's a myth or just a general guide.

Is there anyone here about my height and, if so, what length cue do you use and feel comfortable with?

I'm thinking of getting one about 59". A friend of mine has one 61" which I thought was a bit long even though he's my height.

Would a longer cue would mean a whippier cue? More susceptible to warping?
And then there's the potential problem of having a case to fit.

    Any thoughts?

it depends on your height, and more importantly, how comfortable you feel with it

general guide. not suitable for everyone, but is for most

players ive known who are as near to, or exactly your height, use between a 57 and 59 inch cue

i wouldnt go above 60, for the simple reason that that would be 3 inches longer than average, and your only 4 1/2 inches taller than the average guy (approx.)

it depends. one piece? or where the joint is etc...

    More susceptible to warping?

    see above

it depends if it has a joint, and where, and also if its more than around 58 1/2.

you can get bigger cases from cue craft, the last time i checked....

    Any thoughts?
