  • Practising with music...

As Hendry is back playing well, he has credited the results with his hours spent alone on the table, listening to his Ipod.

How does everyone feel about practising and listening to music, good or bad?

Bad. I tend to go for sillty shots and not taking my time and focusing properly.

I have never tried listeing to music I don't like though... maybe I should give it a try?

well, I don't know... If I am concentrating for a shot, or just concentrating on something, I'd just simply let the music pass my ears and won't be able to tell what I was listening to afterwards But maybe it can help you stay in a good mood and positive look on what you're doing.

may be good to stop distractions which wouldnt normally happen in matches, but still wont be the ideal when its a real game to be used to chilling to some tunes.....

I always listen to music when playing solo. It really spurs me on and heightens my concentration.

I practice when listening to music or podcasts. It doesn't really distract me.

I've used music to do other kinds of practice, and I suspect that it would be great to build a rhythm and to "get into the flow". After a while I didn't really need the actual music anymore, but still went by the same pace.

Also, if I get extremely aggitated for some reason or another it can help to "mentally play" a slow song. (Mine is a hinduist mantra as performed by a "celtic metal" group. It can't get much more obscure, can it?) Maybe I should send a copy to Ronnie
