hi been playing snooker now for six months sometimes i can turn up to play and play really well and feel to cue real smooth other times i turn up and cant pot a ball the cue feels to rattle in my hand due to an off centre strike.i do realise that your not always going to play well but when i do play well i can have breaks of fourty and when i dont i cant pot a ball i no its down to my cue action but why does it change from week to week any tips on basic setup or anything else would be great cheers

I had the same problem a few months ago.
It basically depends on your day to day game. You start playing a game today and the first few shots you play go good...I assure you, you will be confindent and will play well! But when you cant get the first few shots right, It begans to get into your mind and you lose concentration and the game drops.

I have one basic rule! Have a steady cueing action, make sure you play all the shots with equal importance, this should make a huge difference.

This is just a small suggestion. Maybe another experienced member will be able to help you better.

      Hi Dave,

How often do you play? If you only play once or twice a week, realistically you are never going to acheive much consistency. To state the obvious, try and play as much as you can, but also try and practice on your own a few times a week doing "line ups". I promise you this will improve your consistency. If you need any practice routines, drop me a line mate.
      Good luck!
