As Highland Spring is a sponsor of World Snooker maybe that has something to do with it?
      1994 a good year
      The Masters a great event
      The Final a marvellous match
      The Winner a snooker genius
      Alan McManus The Winner
      Stephen Hendry The Loser

actually, alex higgins used to drink straight vodka during some of his matches, there was a story that someone had mixed dennis taylors water up with alexs vodka, alex took a drink, and shouted to dennis your trying to drown me. He did occasionally drink orange and vodka. Bill WErbinick used to drink larger during his games, ronnie has also drunk tea during his game.

I dont actually think the players have to drink water, but many people feel water helps clear your mind, and it obsorbs into your body quicker, keeping you fresh.

        hope this helps

I think they can drink anything they want but alcohol was banned from the arena recently. (could be wrong on that) Its only right though because alcohol and good cuing don't mix. I avoid fizzy drinks when I'm playing so I don't get bloated. I'll only eat a snack before I play because too much food dulls your senses.

I don't know why either. I must admit when I'm playing I drink orange squash. If I'm refereeing, strictly water (as all referees should do).
Bill Werbenick once drank 20 pints of lager during a match.

I think water's probably the safest - imagine drinking a fizzy drink with all the wind that that produces!

I watched two films a week or 2 ago , were in fact 2 documentaries about snooker , i could notice in there the players were allowed to drink alcohol during matches but i saw they were allowed to smoke also - for me, THAT was smth new.

Wow. I take it he lost? Or did "the other chap" drink even more?

Michael Holt looked like he'd had quite a few cans of Red Bull when he played Ronnie in Malta 8)

in one documentary, it said, bill werbinick, would drink 7 oints before a match, then around 1 pint per frame, and around 2 in the mid session interval - imagine all of the alchol - he was reknowedto farting alot

he actually drank because he had a nervous disorder, he would shake otherwsie, it was either that, or he would need medication.

I think Redbull helps you know. I tried it a few times before snooker and have played better that usual...

Bill, rest his soul, was known for his 'requirement' to drink heavily before and during a match to calm his nerves. I don't know about his career stats though.

I've never fancied Red Bull as I've always thought it will make me hyper and make me miss everythihng in sight.
