    Hi,

Somebody has offered me a Lewis & Wilson 2010. Anybody can tell me if this brand its good quality ¿? Is it better than Peradon Pro for example ¿?

    Thanks!
    Pablo

No, I'd say Peradon would be better.

I see ... thank you ... It's just that I bought a Edwardian and not completely satisfied (I know It's not comparable) ... It bended a little bit close to the tip ... and the feel of its wood seems to me a bit sticky ... a friend bought a LW2005 and I prefer his cue than mine ...

So I'm thinking on changing the cue but not sure yet ...

      Thks!!

Not sure that this particular Lewis and Wilson is one of the chinese versions. The L&W range that are numbered between 2001-2010 were made here and were a very good reputable company making quality cues during the 80's and 90's. In fact 2 of the main cue makers who worked on this range started their own cue company Mastercraft a few years ago after L&W went bust.

If it is one of the original L&W cues then I'd say they are every bit as good quality as any Peradon, better IMO because they won't be lacquered like nearly all Peradon cues are.

they are chinese cues with blackened ebony imported by the master billiards company - i had some recently! - I think you are right that dave and chris from mastercraft may have made some of them but not the ones you would get now, the current ones come from exactly the same place as the barracuda and adam cues - i believe the whole shooting match is owned by a guy called dave fisher. for sure they have nothing to do with eric lewis

Thanks everyone for your replies !! Very helpful information ... another question the ... what about Craftsman cues ? I've been looking trough their catalogue and don't get the difference between the standard and classic range ¿? Any recommendations for a 100-130 pounds cue with mini butt ??

I have to get the cue online because there isn't any shops in Madrid where I live ...

              Thks again!

cueman is correct, the lewis & wilson 2001-2012 series were made at halesfield in telford (england) which was run by eric lewis
i had a 2009 made there which had a long snakewood splice over white inlay.
a lovely cue. i visited the factory and met eric a number of times to have odds and ends done, it was a big company.
in those days eric supplied part made cues to many of the big companies like craftsman, parris, tony wilshaw etc...
most of these big these big companies have gone now.(powerglide/riley/L&W etc..)
i think ADR147 is right that all the L&W you see on ebay now are cheap imports, but if you get one of the older ones, they're top notch.
i think i still have the brochure knocking about somewhere.

the L&W you talk about are now the guys behind mastercraft cues - in shropshire.

my only problem with that is that i bought 24 of them from master billiards in bristol about 2 years ago and i can say for sure they were made in china! so i think it must depend on whether or not you bought them before eric lewis sold the rights? the same is true of barracuda the old ones were ok but now they are firewood - i think you would need to look carefully at each cue and judge it on its own merit - but then i guess in an ideal world you would like to do that anyway!

No Lewis and Wilson cues have been made in the UK for about 4-5 years
They are now made in Asia.

I have stocked the ones in the picture 888 and they are Asian made has are many cues with the name England on them.

Always look for "MADE IN" tends to be a good guide, I think it's very misleading using old brand names to give people the impression that the cues are still made in UK

Very few UK made cues these days.

About a dozen I would guess hey Ady ?

Is this an English made Lewis and Wilson?

                          http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/top-quality-le...QQcmdZViewItem

I am looking for something a little different from the mainstream, and like the look of this cue.

                          Thanks Daniel
