  • 9" Aluminium extension or 6" mini butt??

Hi everyone I'm going to purchase a new cue within the next few weeks and was wondering what to choose for my extension.

I get to choose one of the two available and they are:
9" Aluminum extension or 6" mini butt

    What would you pick guys?

This is what the 9" Aluminum extension looks like

my personal preference would be the 6" mini butt

seeing theres not much difference in size, and a 6" extension fits comfortably in anyones hand, then id go for that option, as chances are if you need 9" to reach a shot you will need a rest to play it properly, and no extension. at least in most cases

(ok, exceptions are m stevens being able to play quite well with long extensions and no rest)

Thanks for the reply. Yeah was just considering the 9" one because it seems different from everyone else who holds the 6" mini butt. but personally is there any difference such as in "feel" wise. i'm worried that the 9" aluminum is going to be heavier.

mini butts are very light, generally, and wouldnt think thered be too much difference, though itd depend on how the aluminium butt is made , to be able to say otherwise

id prefer the feel of a wooden mini butt, and if you just cant reach a shot but wouldnt need to stretch with an extra couple of inches, then a mini butt extension is required. wouldnt imagine 9 inches would be needed more than 6", as the difference between your bridge hand and cueball would need to alter substansially to use it.......

        6" for me. ahem
