  • Professional Players and Their Cues

Does anyone know what make of cue each professional uses, eg: a list of player names with the cue they use.

I have seen other similar lists but are very outdated.

    Thanks.

not "every" pro no, I have tried to keep a list but it is like buying a computer; as soon as you do it is out of date

others have tried to keep a listing on here but after short shrift it tends to stop.
Pros are renowned for tinkering and changing

I think you’ll find most don’t tinker at all and stick with same cue unless they really have too, but there are a few who are notorious changing cues and tinkering around
      VR Ultimate Limited Edition 1 Piece Ash Cue - 58” | 9mm | 18.9oz | 29.5mm | 18”.
      Long & Short Tele Extensions | 6” & 3” Ebony Mini Butts.
Peradon Blue/Black Patchwork Leather 1 Piece Wide Case.
Century Titanium Ferrule | ADR147 Tip | Taom V10 Chalk.

Alex Ursenbacher uses an Acuerate cue that he has had for 5 years . Tip size looked about 9mm .

Really nice feel to the cue .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

really Neil? a "nice" Acuerate? first one I have heard of

yep, have that on my list already - thanks for the "about 9mm tip" bit though

I think most pro snooker players use parris cues which are custom made

50% of the top 16 don’t use Parris cues. Them days are long gone!

                  Current top 16:
                  Mark Selby - Stamford
                  Ronnie O'Sullivan - John Parris
                  Mark Williams - John Parris
                  John Higgins - Exquisite
                  Judd Trump - John Parris
                  Ding Junhui - Stamford
                  Barry Hawkins - John Parris
                  Shaun Murphy - John Parris
                  Kyren Wilson - John Parris
                  Neil Robertson - John Parris
                  Ali Carter - John Parris
                  Mark Allen - John Parris
                  Stuart Bingham - McDermott
                  Anthony McGill - Maximus
                  Luca Brecel - Maximus
                  Ryan Day - Ton Praram

to my calculation that is 9/16 = 56.25%

of course a player may have changed cue over the break - please let me know if you have information of any change

now if Maguire had gone though to the final of the Riga he would have made the top 16 (even top 10 maybe ) and a GBL could have been in there

Mark Selby’s back up cue is a Parris, a replica of his Stamford

Robertson’s new cue looks like a Stamford to me. Its definitely not a Parris from the positioning of the badge.

yep, heard that - not sure if the replica was before or after when Stanford refurbed his cue in 2016; or whether he has used it in a match, you got any info?

Nope Neil Robertson confirmed on his Twitter that his new cue is made by John Parris, a one piece with more power than his last which was a JP Classic cue

Would have been before 2016, 2014/15 I think. I know Mark enough to chat with him, played together at Willie Thorne’s as juniors. He let me play a couple of shots with his Stamford in nuneaton a few months back and wow it’s a skinny taper and 8.75mm tip! He sights using the arrows which are very prominent and also said the Parris is a lot stiffer than his cue, plays differently

yes I have noticed the last couple of days the unusual badge position and possibly some new splicing, not found any info yet on this work
if this now not a Parris then that brings it to 53% for the top 16 - and if Selby IS using a Parris then back to 56%
