  • Buying my 1st snooker cue

Hello chaps, as the title says I about to buy my first snooker cue, I live in the U.S.
Didn't want to spend more than a few hundred, any thoughts or recommendations on a brand over here across the Sea? No place local sales them, so no chance to try before the buy :chargrined:

Thanks ADR147, By the way your signature link doesn't work, but in another post I just saw a working link " https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/adr147/m.html?_trksid=p3692 "

I might go that direction mate, I see you have excellent ratings on ebay, I had read that Thailand has some of the best cue makers, and with the ratings you must be sending out great cues. The shipping is no joke though good sir.

Why not treat yourself to a cue creator?
Made by McDermott Cue and in your country so shipping costs will be minimal.
World champion Stuart Bingham uses one and they DO play great!

The cues are real players. Hit better than the majority of cues out in the market today.

Simply put bloody expensive. They aren't hand made either, all turned on cnc lathes.

I believe the cue are made half and half...
Hand made splices which are then finished on cnc lathes.
                      Price range $500 and upwards

I already own a few pool cues, just don't own any snooker cues.
I had previously owned a McDermott in the past, they are nice cues as Wolf said, although "hit better" is subjective, depends on the feel you like your cue to have and the deflection you expect from it.
McDermott don't really make snooker cues except maybe custom order or paying to get the shaft turned down, and that is more than I want to pay.
My flatmate is buying a snooker cue, might just wait and try his to see how I like it.

                          Thanks for the input chaps.

Oh that is an interesting website, I guess McDermott does make snooker cues, my mistake. Thanks Mate.
They don't list any snooker stuff on the US site, or maybe I am just blind, http://www.mcdermottcue.com/
