  • Beginner Looking for Starting Cue

Hello so i have been playing snooker casually for about 10 months now and i don't play often because of work and life so i probably play every other Saturday for 4-5 hours with a friend. I usually use the snooker cue provided by the club and i dont have any problems with it but i'm looking to invest in a cue to start having equipment that i can get used to and practice more and improve. i tried out a cue at the club that they were selling but it was it felt quite light and i wasn't really liking it i think (maybe i should of given it more time). I noticed that amazon sells cues and i was wondering if they are worth it. The cue i tried at the club was100£ with mini butt and case and i think it was handspliced but it was second hand so i decided to see what i could find first. I would like to not go above the 100£ threshold for the beginning. I was wondering if anyone recommends buying this cues form J&Y or Cuesoul or do you have any better recommendations for a started cue?

Marc Lockley, who runs the www.snookercrazy.com website, is highly recommended. So is cue-maker Gavin Mengham. Both are based near Waterlooville Sports Bar and both are happy to let you try before you buy at the club.

Thank you for the advice but that is literally over 170 miles away from where i live. Would you say that the cues that you can buy online are worth it for a beginner? I just want a cue that is solid and a good starting cue to use and later on when my skills are better and can afford it, I can invest in a better and more premium cue.

Yh that would of been smarter sorry. I live in grantham. I always go to the Grantham Snooker & Pool Club which is pretty good and they let you try cues before you buy them but only for a couple frames which makes sense.

            Try Grand cues: http://grand-cues.com/index.php/cues...sc&order=price
That’s the site I guess. or Green Baize https://www.greenbaize.com/product-c...&max_price=150

ADR147 might also have some in that budget. Good luck.
