  • White Spirit or Methylated Spirits To Clean Cue Shaft?

I believe that both are good to use to clean the cue shaft prior to refinishing, but which one is better and why?

    Any advice would be great.

best use "pure" 98% alcohol (Methylated Spirits), this will evaporate almost instantly, and will not harm your cue and is available at any farmacy

White Spirit is a petroleum distillate used as a paint thinner, and ingredients used to make it, can differ from brand to brand, so you never know whats in there.

for more info why not to use it

      Good to know, thanks.
The bitter taste of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Yep Meths is the best option.
Be careful thought if you have sanded the shaft as it will raise the grain ever so slightly.
If you're just cleaning the cue then it's no problem at all.
