  • Hunt and O'Byrne Brown Label cue?

    Hi All,
I was given a cue years ago as I used to play a lot but haven't for several years and want to sell it but don't even know if it is genuine (I was told it was) or what it is worth so
would appreciate any help. I would upload some pics but I don't see how at present as I do not have a URL just my pc.
    Thanks
    Steve

they did a red badge (not Brown)

you can use image sites without registering like Tinypic or ImgBB to get the sharing for forums code, which you then paste into your post

looks like a Black badge and the black ink has faded a bit.
Black badge is the top of the range; what are the specs of the cue?
total length (inch); tip (mm), weight (oz)

the tip end will need attention as it has been "hour-glassed" by poor chalking technique, this could reduce the amount people may offer but not a huge job to fix

in this condition is is worth 600-800 how long is it? if it is 58" then a new ferrule etc would sort it out if it is 57" that would be an issue.

In fact I would like to buy this.

20 seconds with wire wool would have that ferrule looking brand new

That's the trouble with maples they seem to absorb dirt and chalk much worse than ash cues and it seems to be near impossible to get it all out.

yes but as long as the cue is long enough you only lose a little re doing it.

It's not that hard as I've done a few, just need to know how...

If your interested in selling it send it to a good reputable cue maker and have it refinished then put it on eBay wider audience the Chinese love these cues and normally pay top dollar to get them.

Have Robert Osborne take a look at it, and refurb it.

A couple sold a month ago on ebay for £1660 and 1950.

Better to open your auction up to the world and ship to China and abroad, so bear that in mind.
