Default How much improvement can I expect ?

Hi all I have my first coaching lesson booked Sunday with Andrew Highfield, I am thinking of maybe 2 x 1hr lessons a month and with Andrew and I am thinking of starting to go down my local snooker hall on my dinner hour most weekdays to practice and probably go to the snooker hall Saturdays for a few games with a mate.

I used to play once or twice a week on and off upto about four years ago I think my highest brake was in the thirtees.

Also how much does playing snooker improve your pool game ?

Well if you play more on a regular basis and get tips from a coach, there is no reason why you shouldn't improve.

It depends, I think, of who you are and what sort of player. A beginner, OR, somebody who wants to improve their game may need regular help from a coach for best improvement. A better player who just wants a few hints would benefit from just a couple lessons a month possibly.

Dont be surprised if your game goes backwards before it goes forwards. If he thinks your technique has some problems then he might take it apart and start again with it. This will take a while to get used to, but the benefits should be sweet.

    Hope it goes well

This is very true, with my new stance, approach and cueing action I do seem to be missing some pots that I would normally pot but hopfully in all good time and practice I will get a lot better.

Default bring your game to a new level

Red , if you are incorporating a new method of play , and it is of sound principals , your will drop a notch , while you are learning it , however once you learned it to the point that you can apply it effectively , your game should jump up 2 notches , if it's sound stick with it ....later ..Joe

There is no reason why your game should decline. No logical explanation so just concentrate and let it feel natural.
Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.

whenever i try and change any part of my game my form drops for a bit. i put it down to concentratiing more on that one element, and therefore less on everything else.
