Default Body weight in stance- forward or vertical?

    Hello everyone

My stance is something like this, right leg straight and solid, thumb 1 o clock to line of aimand heel on the line of aim
left leg bend, parallel to the line of aim about 2/3 inches ahead of right leg

however i prefer to put my body weight forward and i think it helps reduce upper body movement.

but most of the pros i study i see that their legs are somewhat vertical and it seems they put their body weight not forward neither backward.

so guys please share your knowledge about this issue, what you think is best to do with bodyweight? put it forward a bit or keep it vertical ?

Generally speaking, your right leg needs to be verical.

But if you are not comfortable, experiment by taking your left foot wider or forward - but not so that your left heel is in front of your right toes.

It's difficult to pinpoint the ideal stance without seeing a player in action.

It's real easy and I don't know where you got the idea that the heel of the straight leg should be underneath the grip hand as it's always been somewhere around the arch of the foot. If you have the arch of the foot below the grip hand when in the address position then the other foot either parallel or slightly forward you should be fine.

I have to disagree with Tim Dunkley here as the straight leg should be slight BEHIND the vertical since you should have twisted the hip out of the way. This means the arch of the foot has to be ahead of the hip of that leg. If you put the heel underneath the grip hand it places you too far forward into the shot on the right side of the body (for a right-hander).

I know you said Nic Barrow said have the heel of the foot underneath the grip hand but I think you had better check that reference as that is not what he teaches. I know because I am a Master Coach and Examiner who was taught by Nic

on your question of weight distribution weight backward is a bigger no no as you could lose your cue a lot easier due to the lack of support behind you at least if your weight is forward the table gives some support also i cant see how all ur weight behind when ur bending forward can be good for your back

OK i am a bit lost now in my starting post of the thread i didnt even mention the word GRIP, so i dont see i ever said my heel is underneath the grip, what i meant is my grip (also my right heel, bridge hand, grip and nose) is on the line of aim, and THIS IS what Nic Barrow Coached me, i can prove it by uploading the videos of Nic Dartfishing my game.
